The Braves bullpen, or the Reds bullpen?

Bravos give up a 5 run lead in the 9th, luckily got their butts pulled out of a loss by Chipper and Francoeur in the 10th. They kill me sometimes. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wall.gif[/img]

reds by far.

atleast bravos have been in the playoffs in recent memory. as bad as i hate to say this, the reds just try to out hit everybody they play.

I am afraid their both awfully horrible.

I would say the Braves bullpen is worse, because during that game it said they have 18 blown saves this year and I believe it said the Reds had 13 or 15.

the braves have had some decent closers, woolars, smoltz, rocker, and wasn't Merker a closer back in the day?

who have the reds had? Personally I think Weathers is the worst pitcher in the bigs. A worse closer than Foulke.

But with the recent edition of Everyday Eddy, the reds could make some noice if he can regain the form he had in Minn a few years ago.

I think the Reds could have saved some money and went after Mike Myers or Chad Bradford. Both are side armers and are known to throw alot of groundball outs. however both are also very capable of throwing alot of flyball outs and at G.A. that is a HR.

I think too much emphasis is put on closers and not enough on middle relievers. The middle guys are under significant pressure too, they can blow the game just as easily as the closer. If teams would stop shelling out $100 million a year (exaggeration) on a closer and get some quality middle guys I bet they would win 6-8 more games each year.

Not that a shutdown closer isn't nice to have. But how often does the starter pitch 8 strong innings? Rarely.

I could be wrong, but I think the Reds got eddie pretty cheap, with Seattle taking on most (if not all) of his contract...

They have had some decent closers in spurts in the past, but I am just talking about in the present. These guys are killing me. Heck Smoltz would probably be an all star right now if it wasn't for the bullpen. Before his last start the bullpen had blown 6 of his last 7 decisions which would have been wins. Its ridiculous right now.
